The 11th Digital Landscape Architecture Conference in Germany is calling for submissions of posters which explore digital renderings and digital representation techniques in landscape architecture. Here is a beautiful competition entry from Akka and an example of how a clear representation ‘attitude’ can bring the anticipated experience of the landscape alive. Clean, illustrative, and abstracted just this side of cartoonish, this set of drawings immediately transport me to a hip ski event in this stylized wintry place.

When it comes to exploring representation techniques heavy in mixed media and superbly crafted, the Bartlett School is a huge source of inspiration. The students at Bartlett are a norm in any representation competition, and the school definitely has a recognizable style, so let’s try to figure out what it is about their style that is so appealing.
